Response Robot Exercise, Montgomery County Fire Rescue Training Academy plus Safety, Security and Rescue Robotics 2006

Ah it's good to be on the other side of the fence for a change!

I spent the last weekend helping NIST test robots at the Montgomery County Fire Rescue Training Academy, Response Robot Informal Evaluation Exercise #3, run by the US Department of Homeland Security and National Institute for Standards and Technology. A bit of a role reversal from RoboCup!

Also held this week was the IEEE Conference on Safety, Security and Rescue Robotics (SSRR) '06, held at the NIST main campus in Washington DC, where I presented a paper on our Redback robots.
